Regardless of purpose yes they are good enough to play and enjoy the game. They are not the best. Eggyra card is a good example, yes nice and useful, had one for certain times. But in most cases extra HP serves you more, more so as your Int reaches top end, IMHO it's better trade off letting you toss some vit back into Int for better sp regen and damage and max sp and MDEF and status resistance.

After dying a bunch and using first aid after first aid to get ready to go (3x/26 mage can take two hits from agropies nowadays, so I don't die as often as I used to), I think that the piece of equipment I need to prioritize getting is a healing clip. Potions are nice, but it's not like they ever save my life (one hit kills me most of the time). I can't even imagine affording any of the other stuff y'all have mentioned in this thread, so I just want to know what the best way to get the healing clip is.

For the clip, should I camp the dragon fly? They sell for about 15k on valk, and I can drum that up in no time. I am unclear, however, on whether or not I will need to get the clip "slotted," and I am further unsure about the cost of this process.

For the Vitata card, I cannot find any price info on ragial, so i was wondering if someone could clue me in on the price. Lately, I have been having a lot of trouble getting to and in ant hell, but I'll camp the vit's if this is the best way to get the card.

Thanks for your help! Hopefully I will soon be able to leave the potions behind!

clips are all slotted
if you wanna have some fun and have some extra cash to burn, getting a slotted skull ring is easy as heck with socket enchanting

anywho, foods almost always give better healing. Fresh Fish from that guy near the ship in Alberta is a little pricey, but is readily available, light and heals a good amount.

IMHO food is no good for a wizard, if you are hurt on a wiz you want as much healing as you can get and you want it NOW. Spamming your way through 100 carrots might be fine on a thief who can dodge well enough, but when you have minimal vit and agi you need to heal as quick as possible.

My suggestion would be, if they are in valk, get a hide clip and try to avoid as much damage as possible. Party with a priest. Make sure you use energy coat as much as possible. And if you can afford them get a set of racial guards.

There is the rental ring that allows teleport/hide/heal but that is not permanent. The glaris hat restores 50hp for each monster you kill. The release of wish wand restores some hp and sp by chance upon each magic attack i think. You can make a kahii spouse. Can buy life potions from kafra shop. Or just find a priest to party with.

I admit that carrots are a bad idea, but I was prettt OK with Fresh Fishes with my mage/sage before I got kaahi...

Since this isn't a part of the forums yet, I was wondering what a good place to make zeny was? Bug legs are nice, but I feel so poor... Anyways, maybe someone more knowledgeable than myself has a guide in them on this particular subject?

All I know is that I get really jealous seeing other mages my level do twice as much damage as me with their spells b/c of all their int eq

Edit: a good place for a mage to make money, that is--lots of guides on how to trade eq out there, but i was wondering if there was some magic monster out there that mages were particularly good at killing which dropped winning lottery tickets or something of the like...i'm prolly asking too much here

Highly unlikely that a mere +2 INT from a headgear, which are the only expensive items I can think of, would make other mages deal twice as much damage as you..

Earrings and a decent wand should be all you need as a mage. Maybe you invested in other stats instead of INT all the way?

As for money farming, it's been a while, but back in the day I would go to coal mines. Great place to work on your VFW and the miners would drop coal, elus, oris, etc.

If you're still base level 30ish, and don't mind the slow(er) exp, Wolves.
I know... I know... terrible leveling grounds, but the claws are abundant, you can kill the Mushrooms on the map as well for the chance of getting Red Bloods and Crystal Blues and the meat you get from wolves will stockpile

If you're aiming for EXP, Stapos up in Rachel then work your way up to Droseras and Muscipulars

Once you get Firewall, a lot of leveling and farming places will open up.

Wolves are actually pretty good for drops since mantles are not bad now for socket enchanting. I hunted a week there but got no mantles so i just buy them for up to 1mill now. :P
