ahh 0.5%, yeah but that still kinda low for monsters that only spawn after a set period of time. Mayhaps it wont be taht bad though.

Super Novice: The New Breed
In order to push the limitation and know the boundaries of what Super Novices can do, one should experiment, hence, my prototype Int/Str/Dex Super Novice. Even before I started this little experiment, I have already received criticisms that this kind of Super Novice will not be very effective. But I am not dispirited; I still did it anyway, and so far I am satisfied with the results. The main factor why many does not believe that this kind of Super Novice will be efficient is that because with this type of SN, you will not have any Vit and Agi whatsoever. For many that will mean no defense at all; but if you look at it in another angle, whatever this build is lacking in defense, it will compensate with offence, which reminds of the saying, “The best defense is offense.” Also, with this kind of build, an SN will enjoy both worlds of magic and melee; it will have Mammonite for melee and magical combos like FD+LB or SC+FB among others. We already have the Agi type SNs and the Mage type SNs, both of which are efficient in their chosen fields. What we have now is the new breed. I’m not very sure, but I think I can be categorized as a hybrid. My main issue with the defense of an SN is that it is not really an SN’s strong point given their very little hp. An SN usually dies with just one hit or two. Argumentably, I think it is already recognized that Vit is not vital to an SN. On the contrary, Agi can be very useful to an SN; but one should max it, and get all the flee boosting skills one could get a hold of, like Improve concentration and Inc Agi buffs, etc. for it to be effective. So so Agi will also make you so so, remember that. Therefore, if defense is not really an SN’s strong point, then why put defense at all, right? This is the reason, why I’m trying a new build; to know if it will be effective or not. My new SN is only level 54, and is still far from my goal. But so far, I am happy with the results. The Journey Even before I killed my first Poring, I have already set my mind that this will be a very boring, tedious, and difficult training. That’s why I waited for Gravity to give an experience bonus before I set forth. Soon enough, because of the Christmas season, they did give a x3 experience bonus, and so I’m off. I already have some equipments I needed from my Agi-type SN, but to my surprise, my level 1 SN cannot use some of the equipments because of the level requirement before it can be put on. This was certainly unexpected, but rather than buy new equips that I soon will not be using once I become a Super Novice, I managed with what I had. Also, have I already mentioned that I’m on a tight budget, lol! Like all new novices, the very moment I got out of the castle, I have nothing. I am not allowed to access the Kafra yet because I am only level 1. So, what a lowly novice can do is beg for some help. Begging is a novice’s indulgence. It is a privilege that novice’s enjoy because without any headgears on, a novice definitely looks pitiful and helpless. And because it is Christmas time, people are more sympathetic, and luckily, the first person that I asked for money, gave me 100k… bless your soul! Immediately I bought 40 red pots and a main gauche, and went down the south of Prontera, and killed Porings, Fabres, and Lunatics. After several minutes, I am now able to access the Kafra and get my gears. Once I had my Hard Breastplate, I have enough hp to kill stronger monsters. I immediately went to Byaland level 1, and killed everything in my path. Take note that with this build, you should expect that everything thrown against you will hit you because you have no Agi, so always bring with you as much pot as possible even if you’re overweight; just be sure that it doesn’t reach 90% overweight. I must confess that I came ill prepared. I have not done my research, and I don’t know where I should go to train. So I tried a lot of places I know. But mostly I went to Byaland level 1 and the map right of Comodo beach, where the Thara Frogs resides until I reached level 45. I have burned a lot of pots before reaching level 45; about 400-500k worth of pots. But it was well worth it because after only about 5 hours or so, and at x3 exp bonus, I have gone from a mere Novice to a Super Novice. Once I became an SN, I immediately maxed my Fire Bolt, since this is the most useful bolt. I tried a lot of maps to find out where I could train satisfactorily like Toy Factory, Orc Dungeon, Andre’s, Alarms, GH etc. but I think at low level the most rewarding place to be is with Metallings, Geographers, and Flora. I think I will be roaming around these places for a long, long time. Also, I trained with Holdens because I want to get a slotted Novice Hat, and luckily, after only about 1 hour, my labor was rewarded. Sweet! But I must warn you, the way to Lighthalzen is very very tricky, because in these maps, you are not allowed to Teleport. And the monsters on the road to Lighthalzen hit hard. I died a lot of times before I figured out a way how I can cross these maps. I used Steel Body; the old reliable Steel Body. Equipped with the Quve and Lude Clips, which gives me Endure, I just let the monsters hit me and run as fast as I can so I can cross these maps. Speaking of Endure, whoever said that Endure does not work in WoE? Let me tell you guys… it does!! The Lude and Quve combo, which casts Endure works in WoE. A new discovery. ![]() Also, you can train with monsters that have range attacks with the Pneuma and Firebolt combo. ![]() I am not through with this guide yet, I’ll be updating this guide with hopefully new discoveries and helpful information. Long live the SN’s!!! Special Note: Since almost all physical attacks hit this kind of build, cards that have skills that will activate when hit by a physical attack always activate like Bash and Quagmire from Punk card. I have also experimented with Clock card, and it works well. What I do is first wear my Breastplate with Clock card then wait for it to activate, then switch to my Hard Breastplate. I now have Guard. Sweet!! I am now trying to collect armor cards that will inflict status ailment when I get hit. I’ve just recently acquired a Rybio card which inflicts Stun to those who try to harm me. Eheh. I find that these cards work well when I’m in Steel Body mode. Many got the surprise of their life when they suddenly got stunned while hitting me. It is very useful in PvP, but I haven’t tried it in WoE yet. I will try to exploit this discovery once I get my hands on other cards that will inflict other status ailment, like sleep etc. Here's some screenshots of my adventure: This was one of those very rare occurence that I was with emperium all by myself. It was very unfortunate that I was not able to bring my weapon, and only has my dagger which misses. Aw!! After 30 seconds, a High Priest came but he misses at the emperium too which made us laugh, after several more seconds, a stalker came but failed to kill me, and he misses at the emperium too, weheheh. After one minute a Whitesmith killed me. Man!! P.S. I don't have a guild yet, nobody wants an SN, no surprise there. But I have a question, if I was able to break the emperium without having a guild, what will happen? ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are some PvP actions: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More WoE actions: ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by popolocroix : 01-02-2007 at 02:05 PM. |

Int/Str/Dex Super Novice build looks like a Ninja build (I know you came up with the idea for it before Ninjas were released). High Str, High Int, moderate Dex. Bolts still have around 3 second cast time, but if you can hold them still in place with FD or SC you'll be fine.
They will be announcing when Hugel will come out... but I want Hugel later.... cause all of the super novices will die trying to fight ninjas... So any strategies for handling the new characters? Gunslingers use Pneuma. Killing Strike, similar to GF, you'll survive the first and activate Steel Body. 1 HP left, hopefully you can hit them before they use a Yggdrasilberry. Or you could Pneuma it from the start. Caster Ninjas treat like wiz. Shadow Jumper, keep Ruwach on. 50% crit could kill. Ciceda Skin/Mirror Image, use a spell like Frost Diver. Throwing Ninja, Pneuma the ranged attack. Last edited by hinatasou : 01-15-2007 at 05:01 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

If you tried breaking the emp without a guild... You won't be able to break the emp cause you won't be able to attack it. Required to hit the emp: a guild and a permit to participate in WoE (official guild permit)
By the way popolocroix, I will attend Glorietta E.G.G. party so I will be able to find out which servers will merge.... I'll tell you the good news. I HOPE CHAOS AND ODIN WILL MERGE... we can kick butt together... If not... ToT.... invent a name so you can go to Odin.... not the same name that you use...

I read that at level 95-99 you can no longer perform Steel Body in lieu of the HP increase at level 99. Yet this picture says otherwise...
I don't know where his level 99 shiny blue aura went. Maybe disabled the effects. So once level 99, do you still have to get to the same condition of 99% base even though it says 100% permanently (similar to getting Fury after level 99) (will be extremely difficult to tell when you reach that mark). ![]() Last edited by hinatasou : 02-11-2007 at 09:28 AM. |

Plus Mental Strength (by post-Renewal) reduces all incoming damage to 1/10 XD (90% reduction tanking mode)... (only if they make the Extended classes have a max level of 150) XD

In any way at all, it won't work with this build and that secret move.
